I recently started a new job in Iowa. I am a single person only claiming myself. I am supposed to be paid every week but my first 2 weeks were on a combined check. Gross income 1320 and net income was 919. This seems like too high of tax being taken out. what do you think?

I bought a stock and call and put on it. I made a profit on the stock and took a loss on a call and put option. If I buy the stock and different put and call option strike prices within 30 days, is it considered a wash for my options losses for tax purposes?

when I got hired for a job at an AMC theater yesterday. One of the managers was helping me and another new hire out, and she was saying that 0 would have the government take more out now, but give me more back later, or something like that, so I just claimed 0. Was that the right thing to do? I'm an 18-year-old still living with my parents, and I'm a full-time college student

Also, how much is the government gonna take out of each paycheck? Let's say I work 20 hours a week, at $8/hr, which = $320 per bi-weekly paycheck. How much of it will they take out?

Lets hypothetically say that you made $25K buying and selling on ebay and did not know the laws and didn't report it as income.

How can you fix it with IRS so that you won't get audited and convicted for a crime?

In 1995 I lived in Georgia. I don't have any recollection if I filed or not. They say they will garnish wages if I don't pay 2,583.84 within 30 days.... I looked at my W2s from that year and saw I paid 560.00(State Taxes) into the system that year ( 22k year job). They say they represent the Georgia Dpt of Revenue. What can I do..I survive off $800 disablity income at present.

Does anyone know how much we will receive back for our son on taxes and if he can claim me as a dependent on his taxes!? Texas Tax laws please... I don't understand taxes and the way it works if I phrased something wrong please forgive me.

I was reading the IRS guide for this credit and they have a series of questions to answer if you qualify. I am good until it gets to decision 8. Decision (8). Do you have a tax liability (Form 1040, line 46 minus lines 47, 48, and 49) (Form 1040A, line 28 minus lines 29 and 30)?

I didn't owe any taxes. So I didn't have a tax liability? If you don't have a tax liability it says you can't get the credit. Why is this the case. Thanks.

I have a Question about income taxes. Im only 19 so i dont really know alot about the taxes and what to do. Im doing my taxes for the first time. I have a W-2 form from working where im going to reciecve back $300. Then I have a form from the Lottery saying I owe them $200. Then I have a Interest Form saying I owe $300 for savings bonds interest. After I total everything---
+$300 W-2
-$300 Interest Savings Bonds
-$200 Lottery
Owe =$200
So Basically I owe Back $200. So when I do my taxes which im using turbo tax for the first time could I mail In a Check or Money Order for $200 with my income Tax Pamphlet. Oh Yeah and also do I have to include all my tax forms(W-2,Interest From,Lottery Form) that I received in the envelope im mailing in with my income tax pamphlet when I mail in taxes.

It shouldnt be that hard I have 1 W-2 Form, A Interest Form From Cashing in my savings bonds, And a tax form from the lottery. I was wondering how does turbo tax work. Do I need a income tax booklet where you put all your taxes in then you mail it in or do i just use turbo tax then print off the papers and mail those in?

We are thinking about transfering my business premesis into a Sipp.
My partner and i bought new premesis 4 years ago for 250k now valued at 350k.
if we sell property to our sipp do we have to pay CGT on the gain or do we pay corporation tax?
if its cgt then do we split the gain between us and can we use our annual cgt allowance against the gain?
so is it scenario a: gain of £100k pay corp tax at 20% tax bill of £20k added to annual bill then income tax of 40% when we take cash out of company - this seems a very unfair way of doing things.
Or is it scenario b;
Gain of £50k per partner reduced to 25% as its a business asset = £12,500 then deduct personal allowance of £9200 leaving a tax charge each of £3,300.

i hope its b.

PS. we have enough in our pensions to fund the purchase of the building into our sipp, we are just very concerned with the proposed increases in CGT through removal of taper relief/indexation.
