I am a medical transcriptionist independent contractor working from home. Would it be better to file married-jointly or married-single? This is my only source of income other than what my husband makes. I have not made payments yet, will I get charged a late penalty?

I live in the UK, and I've found that many things are cheaper if bought from the US, even with the postage charge.

But, then I have to pay import tax.

Why does this tax exist, isn't it blocking free trade?

When a Pimp pushs a teen to sell herself and make $1500.00
a day and $10,500.00 a week and $546,000.00 a year why don't the IRS get these individuals and make them pay taxes, I pay taxes and I'M tried of paying, when these Pimps gets away with this just think about this then a Pimp has ten ladies of the night then money is 10 times the amount, when these Pimps or ladies get caught by the LAW red flags should go up in the gray matter between the ears, do a back ground check and see how long this Pimp has been doing this and trace down how many ladies this Pimp has, or put inside people too go under cover and not for a short time it would have to be for a year or so then bust this PIMP and make him back pay the taxes that the working individuals is paying for, the fact is the working individual is paying for taxes that this trash is not paying the IRS is not doing there job, but they are doing there job against the working class individual.

Im an auditor in public accounting (big 4) and my 12 year old sister just moved in with me due to a family emergency. Well im faced with a delima given that my current job requires me to travel and work extensive hours. So im looking for a less demanding job so that i can attend to my sister. Recently i was extended an offer from the federal government, however the pay is $10K less than what im worth and the grade level is the same one that they would give me straight out of college. Considering the facts mentioned above do you think i should take this job?

there are many kinds of tax deductions when running my business. right?

1.) Are cost of goods sold are 100% deuctable?

2.) if the cars are for business and personal I can deduct $.485 per mile, if it's for business only Can I duduct the payment and gas costs?

3.) If I buy equipment like a computer, I can't deduct the cost of the computer, because it's still an asset that is taking the place of what was cash right? What if it's part of the start up costs? If I sell the equipment do I have to consider it income?

4.) Are consumables like electricity and printer paper are 100% deductable.

5.) what about waste? We have a vinyl graphics business and have mistakes sometimes. Can I deduct the retail value of the wasted item.
This is so confusing. how do I keep it straight?

I went to the car wash near my house and the sign on the box says that they are required to charge tax on a purchase using a credit card but not on the cash purchases- I think they are driving up the cost to cover the cost of someone using the credit card- I've never heard of such a thing

I am 22 and did not work a single day this year, so I have no income. I live with my parents, I take care of my mother. I was also admitted to UofA and I signed up and paid for my classes but I never went.

Will I be added to my dads tax return or do I need to file my own?
