I am 22 and did not work a single day this year, so I have no income. I live with my parents, I take care of my mother. I was also admitted to UofA and I signed up and paid for my classes but I never went.

Will I be added to my dads tax return or do I need to file my own?

You do not file your return if there is no income.

Your dad can claim you as dependent, under Qualifying Relative if he meets these requirements.
1. The person either (a) must be related to you, or (b) must live with you all year as a member of your household.
2. The person's gross income for the year must be less than $3,300.
3. You must provide more than half of the person's total support for the year.

If you had no income, there is no need to file. Whether or not you can be claimed on your father's return is another question. He may want to talk with a tax person, since you're over 21.

If you didn't have any income, then you don't have to file a tax return. But since you are over 19 and were not a full time student, your dad can't claim you on his return either.

You do not need to file a return because you have no income.

Whoever is providing your support (probably your father) may be able to claim you as a dependent on his or her return. Whether or not this person does so, you are not required to file.
