I dropped the ball on my taxes, as I had a child, changed jobs, and moved to a new country.

In the midst of the chaos I went to an accountant and gave him all my income papers for 2 years worth of taxes.
The problem being that I cannot find him anymore. He is unreachable by phone, and can't find an address for him. He dropped off the face of the earth... and took my income documents :)

What do I do ? There was quite a bit of paperwork from ex-employers, and tracking this paperwork down again seems like quite a chore... especially since I'm overseas.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you made 3000/month and withheld 7 on your check to get more money each paycheck and use deductions on property tax and home interest to even out your tax bill at the end of the year is that illegal if you are married and have 1 child but are witholding 7.

The extra money each check would allow you to pay a higher mortgage than if the taxes were taken out.

I heard on the radio that the government has given the green light for local councils to start experimenting with charging for charging households for clearing landfill rubbish by weight.

I thought a percentage of the council tax went towards this - so yet another stealth tax! What happens to those people in flats with communal bins? Is this going to be shared among the flats - very popular for the pensioner living on her own!!! What about those who cannot store rubbish and have the special sacks to put out? How are the dustbins going to be secured to ensure that a householder is only paying for his own rubbish?

This proposal is rediculous and unworkable! Anyone with outside space will just burn their rubbish and fly tipping will become an even bigger problem.

Would you be happy to pay extra or would you expect a reduction from your council tax bill if they were charging you this way?
