my boyfriend works for fedex for his dad, and he owes alot of money on his taxes because when he started he though the taxes were taken out. But come to find out he owes like $8000 for the past 2 yrs in taxes. Since his dad is basically his boss, and writes him a buisness check every week. Was it his dads responsibility to take the money out of his pay?

QB prompt says: future updates won't work, which we knew would happen and we planned on ordering the newer version. But to our surprise (and after completing a week of payroll unknowing), the payroll tax calcs ended on 05/31/07 disregarding any prior purchased tax updates. Our tax update service is paid thru Nov 2007. We have a big mess that I'm sure the IRS would not be happy about.

Do you think its fair to pay £75.61p A WEEK tax to the government. That £75.61 a week is made up of PAYE Tax and National Insurance.

Cause i think its daylight robbery.

I mean lets say you get $500 credit for donating a car and my taxes were $2000. So now when I file for taxes, do I get $500 off my tax returns (which means I pay $1500 in tax) or only a % (which will be your normal tax deduction) of 500 off ( which means I get relief 25% of 500 which is 125) tax returns?

I recently joined a non-profit org as a member. The form stated that membership dues are not tax deductible (although it did state that substantial donations to the organization's "foundation" are). Is this correct?

Also, I recently sponsored an event to benefit this non-profit. Included in the sponsorship package was listing on advertisements and websites. Could this be deducted as "advertising"?

Thanks for any informed assistance.

Im asking this question for someone else....
The situation is... the married couple is in the process of a divorce, they file jointly they owe a large sum of money to the IRS now.
Soon to be x-wife is to blame for debt (although she went to HR and Block, they still let her deduct things that are not permissable), the husband recieved a letter saying that x-wife has not been making payments and they have ten days to make arrangements. The husband went to the IRS office and said he doesnt qualify for Spousal Relief. Few days back the x-wife said that she filled out a form that will let her transfer the debt solely to her...
I have never heard such a thing and I would assume the closest to what she is talking about is the "Spousal Relief" form, but neither of us qualify...
So what the hell is the x-wife talking about??

The IRS sent me the 1040-ES form and don't know what to do about it. It didn't come with a letter or memo telling me what I need to do. It was just the form with some vouchers. Am I required to make payments or can I just ignore it and pay my taxes in full at the end of the year?
