I lived in the United Kingdom, but I work online and my work is in situated in Florida and I have a bank account opened in Florida, US. Where would my tax be claimed? In the United Kingdom because I live there or Florida because my work is situated there?

I know there is no income tax in Florida that is why I am asking.

Hi, I work in a job where I make bonus pay each month. I have a salary and then any hours over 150 each month is counted as bonus pay. I have noticed that my effective tax rate for regular pay is about 10% but about 25% for my bonus pay. Why is this? Is there something that I can change to reduce that rate?

Hi, i'm a registered childminder and as such I am self employed. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much my tax bill for april 2008 will be if I earn £12,500 this year. My tax code says I can earn £5225 before tax and obviously there are various things I can take into account such as food, elec and gas. Any help would be appreciated as the guy at the IR who I spoke to was a waste of air!!
Cheers,

Which way would I be better off at the end of the year? Claiming less deductions will result in more taxes taken out, but increasing my 401k would result in my taxable income going down, so I'm not sure which way to go.

I filed a 1040X admendment on April 4th, 2007 and still waiting on my refund. Why does it take 3-4 weeks to process admendmends? I also received an additional W-2 form that was not included in the admendment. I took it to my tax preparer and he stated that since my salarie, wages was $340.00 it did not need to file an additional admendment. Is that true and can I use this W-2 when I file my 2007 taxes?

I am concerned of what would happen if an employer says they are deducting $X of taxes from a paycheck each week but doesn't actually send in as much as they claim to the government. Does the employee then owe money come tax time? What if they were taken advantage of without their knowledge? For example: Their paycheck was stiffed each week and then they end up owing even more to the government? Would the employee be held responsible for that missing money?

I think a flat tax is as fair as it gets, doesnt matter if u make 1,000,000 a yr or 12,000 its in no way shape or form the gov. job to play robin hood. the excuse that it hurts the poor is a bunch of B.S. with a simple tax code and flat tax everyone would benifit. Is it the socialist take from the rich give to the poor mentality that keeps this from happening. The way i see it the rich dont pay taxes and the middle class have to pick up the slack as well as give to the poor.
