Get involved in local politics and stand for election to the Council .. then you can REALLY find out where the money is going ...

Fill in pot holes ? = no way - £150,000 for new 'gates' ? == fine !
.. £10, 000 to put up some 'Equal Opportunities' posters in braille ? yep = approved on the nod !

But even that's small beer to our Local Council - here they go in for things like - new Town Hall ? no problem, only £16 million - and let's have a few new kids play parks ? yep, a snip at £1m each ..

Has the time fianlly come for local voters to oust the privileged money wasting non-local representatives with their snouts in the public food trough and replace them with Residents councillors ?

.. or will the apaphetic morons vote Labout / Conservative as usual ?

Council tax is unfair , and as to vaule for money , that depends on whare you live and what type of property you live in.

Every household receives a bill , this bill does not take in account as to , how maney tax payers there are in each household.

One could be a house containing three flats , each flat paying the same as the three bedroom house next door , now if this seems fair or vaule for money then there is something wrong.

What does worry me , is the fact that the Councils are not accountable to the public as to how they spend this money , and what proffit do they make , and what they do with this.

No, they seem to look for excuses not to empty bins which they only empty once a fortnight, it takes ages for them to react to complaints about non-working street lights, pot holes etc. And Fife Council deserve a thoroughly good kicking for spending a fortune building speed bumps on the vast majority of residential streets which they have made 20mph zones, while letting all the roads run to disrepair.

Our council tax is one of the most expensive in the country and has to be the most pathetic council, for what they give back. It's like getting blood out of a stone to get them to do anything. They are useless. I'm talking about you Vale of Glamorgan County Council

nicely i stay in the domicile counties, our interior sight council looks to easily positioned the charges up as and whilst it sounds like it, and as for fee for funds, no i do no longer think of we do. The dustman are stroppy and the lighting fixtures is extremely hit or omit, the interior sight community centres are no longer something greater effective than a meeting place for drug sellers. the interior sight council has offered off land it owns that have been element of the enjoying fields and have now equipped inner maximum golf equipment on them, which gave the council a extensive funds enhance, and then they assemble fees of those sites, so i think over all no i'm no longer satisfied with our interior sight council. let us know in case you get any advantageous replies.

Not at all. i hate council tax. Our bins only get emptied once a fortnight, our roads are rubbish, our parks and grassy areas are overgrown and badly tended, the streets are full of rubbish.... what are we actually paying for?

NO its a bloody rip,and there cutting the services,as you said,my bins on a fortnightly collection system,and its gonna get worse if they fetch in that pay as you throw system? this country's going backwards not forwards,Ive said that for years?

no way.i have a fence that needs fixing but theres no money to fix fences.so i will need to do that. and i didnt get my bin emptied last week because they said it was too full??? eh???? what do they expect when they only empty it once a fortnight? bl oody cowboys
