I recently opened a business and someone offering the exact same service moved in to the same building that I am in (just two stuites down). Is there a law in California that specifies how close a competitor can be located to you when you are an upstart business?

This will start off as a basic clothing line to establish a name brand. How do we start a trademark and what legal/ red tape do we need to go trough? The web domain is open so that is good so we can set that up once we get the name trademark approved. Any help?

I want to start a business but am having a tough time focusing where to begin. I know what I want to do, but don't know what I should do first--read a book, take a class (and if a class, which kind? Accounting? Management? Law? All I want to know is "how to start a business."). I think what I need to do first is do market research to focus my idea more and make sure there's a need for what I'm offering...but after that, then what? How can I do everything right without breaking any laws I don't know about?

This group will be a community service/awareness group for adoption. We will inform people about adoption and how to reunite if they want to with someone in their biological family and we will also be raising money for non-profit adoption organizations/orphanges. They told me to try to come up with a flyer that would catch people's attention. I want to do something other than just make it a bright pink color. I thought about cutting them into different shapes with construction paper. Any suggestions? Please no rude comments. Thanks.

im just wondering what peoples opinions are regarding my idea to start a bike rental business in spain(which has some stunning bike trails for all enthusiasts), renting decent quality mountain bikes, but also offering racing & kids bikes, plus safety gear & car racks for transportation.

also to keep my costs down i would store the bike in my garage & the rentals would take place by delivering the bikes to clients

any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I sell winter clothes for children on eBay. Every parent makes sure their children have a winter coat for the cold season. My winter clothing sales stop in February once it starts to get warm. What is an item that parents buy for their children during the warm months? When it starts getting cold parents go "Oh oh, better get a coat for the kids". What do they buy in the spring? I am looking for items that cost about as much as a winter coat ($20 and up). I can not make money selling a bunch of shorts, t-shirts or swimming trunks! Thank you Yahoo! Answers!

Generally in society you can tie your pay to the value you are providing. The more value you add, the higher compensation you generally get (negotiation abilities aside).

Someone who is merely a sales person earning commission earns pay for the amount of product they are effectively able to move, the more they sell, the more they get paid.

Someone who organizes a business, risks their own capital, and runs it successfully reaps the value of all these components in profits.

A cashier who works on a low hourly wage offers their time in exchange for a job that is easily replaceable, requires little training and virtually no education, hence the low pay since the value is relatively low.

In all cases the value is directly related to the compensation

Now what about MLM. What possible value is there that an MLM offers if they are selling minimum amounts of product themselves? It the view that merely signing up others is valuable? If so, how sad.
