Small Business - December 2006

I am trying to build my business but everyone keeps telling me that my network marketing business is a scam. I know network marketing is not a scam, but I don't know how to handle this objection.

My company sells bottles of water. We only need to get on autoship for 1 liter of water and it costs $100 each. It sounds like a lot to pay for water, but if we sign up 5 people we get nearly all of it back, and once they sign up 5 people I am actually making good money. Then, as long as everyone signs up 5 people for 10 levels deep, i can make $10,000/month. This seems really smart to me but with everyone telling me its a scam there is nothing I can do.

What do you suggest?

Would ebay take 10% of however much you are offered for an item?
How the person who wants the item get it?
would I have to pay the S&H(shipping and handling if needed)?

After 18 months trading it was obvious we were getting in a rut, partner wasn't willing to adapt the business(Upmarket take away). This caused the split. The business was profitable but is getting in to cash flow difficulties. I went back to full time employment, how does this affect my rights. i put up the original money for lease etc.. Now he is refusing to even dicuss resolving the matter.

Okay! Here it goes (again). I live in NC, I have close to absolutely no money whatsoever. I want to start a business selling things over the internet (customized electric guitars and CDs).
