Yes Ebay takes a cut of the sales price. It also charges a few dollars for listing the item. If you use Paypal, depending on the type of account you use, they also can charge a percentage. Not fair if you ask me. That is why people sometimes charge more for shipping and handling to make up for all the fees they pay. Normally the buyers pays the shipping and insurance.

It isn't a percentage until the item sells. The have set fees based on the starting price of your listing and if the item sells, they charge you based on the percentage of the selling price at the end of the auction. The percentage is different. The link below is the prices from Ebay.
You will ship the item to the buyer once they make payment in full and payment clears.
The buyer pays for the shipping and handling based off of what you state the shipping fees are or it can be automatically calculated in the auction listing. But once you get the money, you take some of that to pay for the shipping. Sometimes, I sell items and list it as free shipping because it usually draws more buyers in and in the end, it usually makes more money.
Your best bet would be to start buying first if you are new to Ebay so you can get the hang of how things work before you start selling. Good luck.

I recently sold some items on Ebay. They charge an insertion fee which is the item listing and that's fairly cheap, but they also take a small percentage of the final bidding when the auction ends. And if your buyer pays with PayPal, they take out a percentage for that as well. How much depends on the dollar amount. When you do list an item it's always a good idea to do your research. When the item gets sold you have several options on shipping. Most people either use the USPS, UPS or FedEx. It is your responsibility when the payment is cleared to ship that item to your buyer otherwise you'll get a negative feedback and possible action can be taken against you. Good luck!

you write in the ebay auction that they will pay for shipping- it always good to give the amount of shipping too-
ebay charges a certain amount to put it on, and then they charge a certain amount if you sell it.

The worst element is which you will be blocked by ability of the enterprise from bidding on their products interior the destiny. in basic terms shop the comments truthful in regards to the object being shipped with a ailment. sellers can no longer flow away destructive comments anymore to customers (its a shame IMO).
