My boss is young, and she's in her late 20's.Basically,she's involved in the family business, which gives her total authority when it comes to control over her staff, and believe me, yelling is just part of her routine and dweilling into your mistakes is her favourite pastime. Don't even think of giving any suggestions in meeting, which she think's you're trying to overshadow her, she's gonna give you a piece of mind when the meeting's over!

I'm sick of working my butt off for horrible hourly wages making other people rich, so I'm thinking about starting my own business but can't figure out a home-based business to start. I am very hard working and dedicated so long hours are not a problem for me, but I'm looking for something with lower start up costs that is interesting and profitable.

Any ideas??

I've sent out a bunch of sales letters/ brochures, and now would like to follow up. however, I only know a few of the names of the people i need to talk to. what is a good way to find out who i need to speak with? "May I speak with the person in charge of marketing?" i (obviously) would like to sound professional, not like a telemarketer.

We have a masonry company, and had an oral contract to brick a house and now the person has got another contractor. We did the foundation already and was ready to brick the house and when we took our equipment to the job site they tell us they got someone else. Is there anything we can do when someone breaks an oral contract?

Im an eBay seller. I sell lots of things, and I want to get in on the clothing biz. I can't seem to find any good wholesale clothing that aren't knockoffs or counterfeits, and I don't want to go to prison. The only good clothes I found come in pallets or truckloads and cost around $4,000+, and I dont have that kind of money to throw around on my first clothing order. It would be nice to buy about 20-100 pieces of clothing to resell, but I dont know where to look. Any suggestions?

For the past 25 years, I have worked for small start-up companies in the Bay Area, California. Typically, they were companies without accounting systems, HR procedures or office/admin systems. The company's principals had extensive Hi-Tech backgrounds but little experience in business. I was sucessful in establishing business infrastructures suitable for small businesses. Now for my question: I'm moving to Huntsville or Birmingham, AL. Instead of working for one company, I'd like to set up a consulting service and establish a client list of 2-4 small companies. The service would be to set up accounting, credit, HR and office processes for start-ups. Once these processes were established, the owners could continue with them or hire a regular, full-time employee to take over. Would such a service be something that a small business owner would be interested in? On a scale of 1 (no interest) to 10 (high interest). Or do should I just apply as a regular, full-time employee?

I went to school for Graphic Design a few years ago, and have been taking baby steps to break into the industry. It's hard to find a position open for a designer in my area and want to try and freelance on the side, and maybe even make it full time. What is the best way to start my business from home?

We are making an online company and need to know what is required in terms of contracts and privacy agreements if we charge companies by the month. We would be displaying their information and logos, but only by their approval, so is there any way we can work with a minimum amount of contracts or none at all? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
