Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.

I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:

* 101 Internet Businesses You Can Start from Home by Susan Sweeney
* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll
* I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It by Barbara Sher
* I Don't Know What I Want, But I Know It's Not This: A Step-by-Step Guide to Finding Gratifying Work by Julie Jansen
* The Best Internet Businesses You Can Start by Marian Betancourt
* The Shoestring Entrepreneur's Guide to Internet Start-Ups by Robert Spiegel
* Making a Living Without a Job : Winning Ways For Creating Work That You Love by Barbara Winter

I also posted some article links in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

You won't find a completely safe business, but some of these are almost that. Try TOPS. It will give you a steady stream of income from multiple sources, and you can control how much you spend in advertising. You can upgrade to a real personal business where you choose what is on your page, and in time be making a really big income.

There are other opportunities on here, too. They are all legitimate honest companies, and will give you all the help you need to get started.

business is gambling, whether you like it or not. Only difference is that business can be alot more calculated and has alot more reasons to make it work or not, unlike gambling where it is pure numbers and percentages.

With business, if you market, sell, and deliver your service or product for great value and decent profit margin, there is still many risks involved in many areas. But these are also the same reasons Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Frank Lowy, Kerry Packer, Rupert Murdoch have made a ridiculous amount of money.

Same rule applies for both though. If you don;t have the money to lose, do not do it.

No such thing as 100% safe. Invest your money , put it into an account with a high interest rate. Anything is safer than investing in a business, but a business can yield more profits.

That's the risk you have to take.
