I have had sooooo... many issues with Wells Fargo bank. Just want to give everyone a place to vent about them. Tell me your good or bad stories with them.

As for me, they have lost my deposits on several occasions, screwed up my escrow account twice and that is just to name a couple things. I can not tell you how much money they have cost me. I have cancelled all of our accounts with them except my mortgage and my student loans but I am looking to refinance them elsewhere.. sometimes it is just the principal of the matter.

What banks do you like?

i'm a idiot and overdrew on my account (I thought someone had deposited money into my account and I figured out it was the wrong day). Well, I'm getting fed up with my bank (bank of America). they charged $35 everytime you overdraw and the customer servic at the bank itself is horrible. I was just wondering what peoples opinions were on what banks are great. I live in the bay area in CA.

1. I'm trying to save up money
2. I'm trying to get thing of my wish list
3. I order books

I wanted to change some swiss francs to british pounds. I checked on internet first, and then went to the bank, and I got about 40 pound less than I thought. Can anyone tell me why this is? Thanks

He can't give any reason for this - just the fact that it would be "too complicated" if we both had access to the account as we wouldn't know what was coming in/going out.

He says if we keep our own money +split bills, we know where we are. At the moment, however, he has his bank card and mine too (I willingly gave it to him because he works from home and pays the bills anyway). However, lately, I've felt that I should have a bank card for emergency travel if I get stuck because of trains, etc. I would have liked the idea of a joint account and we both had a card from it.

I don't really understand the objection. Seems more straightforward to me. It's not that he's mean, in fact he's very generous with money. And I am not a crazy shopping spree kind of woman either.

He worked in a bank for 20 years and they were funny about joint account. He and his first wife both work in the same bank. The bank had a policy of refusing to pay staff salaries direct into a joint account.

I was told that I could go into the post office, give them cash and they would wire? the money to the person waiting in another state and they could pick it up in the state they live in and the cost would be $10.00. Is that possible?

I'm 28 years old. I haven't had a checking account in almost 3 years because I overdrew by about $120.00 and the bank canceled my account. Not until now did I realize that I have yet to pay that back. I will take care of that, but will that help? I'm looking to cash some stocks so I'll have about $5,000.00 to reopen another account. Will that be enough to get an account somewhere despite my bad credit?

How much help can one get on returning to the UK having had to leave an African country. They are going to land with nothing to their name and are desperate to know if they can apply for any financial help and how much it would be. They were born in Britain and have a British passport but lived overseas for most of their life as parents left when they were children. Please - any definite replies will be appreciated so I can advise them.

I know this is going on a bit, which puts me off claiming back from my Barclays current account which has an overdraft bigger than the charges. But if I claim back from Barclaycard, which has no balance, could they shut down my current account as well as the credit card since it's all Barclays?
