I was there for almost 4 years. The funny thing is that I was even thinking about leaving to get a more aggressive sales job that would allow me to make over 100k per year, because the job I had before I was fired used to allow me to make that kind of money, but then changed the structure and then I was only able to max out at 75k. That really pissed me off. I was fired because of a conflict with my manager. Still, I miss my friends there and I was in control of every day, knew exactly what I was doing. Now it is all gone. Do you think this is for the best? Money is very important to me and I want to be able to make well over 100k. In the job I was fired from, that would never happen, would just be able to max out at 75k, but no more. It was, however, very easy and I miss my friends there. When is it considered "time to move on" anyway?

In the UK, I have heard that you can get loans for 0% interest rate for a short period (6-9 months). Anyone knows about this?

My friend is 64. She's been here for 8 years and she is Canadian Citizen. She is very worried about Canada Pension Plan system, for someone told her that she cannot get her pension after 10 years' time in Canada, because she has quite a lot of money at the bank. Is that true? Thanks a lot!

I have accumulated a years worth of pay stubs! Way too many. Out of pure curiousity... I thought it would be neat to write down all the figures down on a computer software. So, maybe I can estimate how much I might earn next time I get paid. Every week, my hours are different, usually they are 30 to 45 hours a week, with 1 to 8 hours over time. Is there a site I could go to?

Why in this digital, lightning-fast age, do ACH and EFT transfers take 2-3 days to get to your account. Why can't it be instantaneous or at least be cleared the next day. I have a theory that banks let it take so long so they can hold your money and make interest off of it :-)

I work two jobs (one full time and one part time) and with my medical conditions I miss a lot of work per month. Will they garnish both of my paychecks or can they only do one? I have been sending this lawyer checks for $10 - $25 per month what I can honestly afford to pay this debt. I'm also in the process of paying off my bankruptcy lawyer to get the case filed in court (They don't know this). Do you think there is a chance that if I call the lawyer they will work out something with me so my paychecks don't get garnished? My mother did this once with her's and it worked. I'm just worried because I'm going to honestly end up on the streets in about two months if I can't stop it. Any suggestions here please?

First Direct have announced this morning that they will start charging customers £10 a month unless they 'deposit or maintain a balance of at leats £1,500 a month'.

There are measure customers can avoid to pay the charge. When interviewed the Cheif Executive said "If you do want to stay, then either please put more money into a relasionship with First Direct or buy a product from us, or pay the fee".

On explaining what a product should be he said, "either.. take a loan from us, a mortgage from us, or an insurance product".
I for one think that £10 a month is rediculous. I don't have that much and am glad I don't bank with First Direct.

What are you views on this situation?
