Which college did u passed out. I am afraid u are not at all aware of many things U r worried so much . U have time to write that in Yahoo answers. Check your ignorance and i would not call it as innocense.
Go back to college and give it in writing that u have lost the Demand draft. Get from the college to the bank a stop payment advice for the d.d and also request for a new d.d.
That is all but unfortunately, this proceedure will take from 2 days to 6 months to get u a new draft. It depends on the efficency of the bank and the bank believing the entire story.
So do not worry complete this proceedure and wait. Also next time when u get a cheaque be careful not to loose and most importantly cross the cheaque or d>D for total protection. U can even give ur account number and take d.d in that case it is totally safe. Uncrossed d.d's can be cashed. by anyone beaware.

Well, its really sad that u misplaced/lost the draft. But follow these steps immediately...
1. Inform your college management about the misplacement/loss.
2. It can be very well reissued after the Management instructs the Banker to cancel the previously issued draft due to its misplacement/loss and issue a new one.
3. There is no way you can get your lost draft back unless and until the person who found it returns to you.
4. Most probably the banker would ask your student identity card for the encashment of this draft so its highly improbable that it might have been cashed by someone else.
Wish you the best.

Hi friend...
Well according to BANK ACT..if a person doesnt withdraw the money from the bank within 6 months from the issue date of the DEMAND DRAFT .. then the said amount is further transfered to realisations account of the party...
In such case if u have the DEMAND DRAFT number then u should go to the bank and ask then to verify if the concerned demand draft has been cleared or no..to the best of my knowledge it wouldnt been encashed for the simple reason that it would be account payee in your name...and such demand draft has to been deposited in account and not been cleared onspot..so need not worry of mishandling of that..
So just go to bank and talk to the manager tha matter would get easliy solved..i wont think the concerned college could help you..
Tk Cr.. Bye Bye

First go to your college and report it and request the college authorities to ask the bank to issue a duplicate draft. And also go to the bank which issued the draft with a letter from the college for stop payment of the draft since it was misplaced. Bank can reissue duplicate demand draft since the value of the draft is small

I assume that you have the details of bank draft such as, bank draft number , date, issuing branch, paying branch or place. If not get the same from accounts department of your college. You may issue a letter, to your college indicating your loss and request them to get a duplicate draft. A copy of this letter may be sent to the paying branch. If the paying branch is your present place of stay, call on them and request them to advise the issuing branch regarding non payment. If the issuing branch, receives such advice then it will be easy for them to issue a duplicate to the college at their request. As your college is the purchaser of the draft all actions are to be taken by them.
