I am 18 , and i'm thinking about being a part time Mary
Kay consultant. Ijust dont know if im making the right decision.

The question is do you want to be in business for yourself? It is up to you. You have to want to be successful!! You have to have the determination to not give up. Like any job/company, you will have good days and bad. You will have no's and yes's. One thing is for sure is that you will be surrounded by many positive people. There is always someone willing to help and give advice. If you listen to your director and follow the marketing plan you will be successful. The hardest part of being successful is warm chattering. It took me a while but I overcame my fear of it. It will definately build your confidence. I've been doing MK for 4 years. I LOVE IT!! Followup with customers is the key!! The company is great and they give you all the tools to be successful. If you aren't successful it is because you didn't try.

Mary Kay the company is very successful. How successful you are is a different question. You are young so I say go for it and find out about who you are. I mean if you don't make the big dollars and earn the pink Cadillac it does not make you a failure. I suggest reading the book the E - Myth. That book will describe the 3 personalities of business. Technician, Manager, and Entrepreneur. If you are not sure which one fits you. After doing your own business with Mary Kay you will find out and eventually land the job that fits your personality.

You're only as successful as you want to be with Mary Kay. If you're outgoing and love meeting new people and have the time to meet for consulations and make-overs, it would probably be great for you.

I sold Mary Kay several years ago. I did not make much money. You can make alot if you have alot of time to put into it and are willing to do the parties and makeovers, open houses and really get out there and put your name out. I mostly did it to get my makeup at wholesale cost.

If you like racking up huge credit card debt, destroying relasionships, being away from home every night, being brainwashed, becoming a kaybot, join mary kay, if not run as far as hard as long as you can and dont look back!

It can be. It is a sales job and you make money based on your effort. You are working for yourself so if you don't make it happen it won't happen. Good Luck!
