I found out too much was in an account paying too little interest.
Also be careful if you have say £100,000 with a society and they go broke you are only covered up to £30,000, any more than that needs to be in diferent societys

I sold my house earlier this year and split the profit with my ex. I have heard that I have to reinvest my profit into another house within 3 years .... or .... something - I think that I will be taxed heavily on that money.

He said he found evidence online that you DON"T have to reinvest it.

feedback?

There's a trip that I really REALLY want to go on with my school (it's to Italy, Greece, and Turkey) and it will cost around $3,000 I think. That money will have to be paid by April or May, and my parents can't afford to pay for it all, so I am trying to find a way to earn some money on my own. I babysit sometimes, but I don't really know how to advertise it. I really need a way to make some money!!! Any help/ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

my mom died 4 years ago. I wasn't in the position to do anything. when I went to visit her prior, she told me what she wanted, and that she had stuff stashed all over the house. My mom was a good gambler. Her friend and police officer husband cleaned out my moms house. I get a call from the mortgage co. telling me there is activity on her credit cards. she gives me partial numbers, I close out 3 acct's from here. Her friend didn't even list her 4 children with the coroner, I spoke to him. She said she had power of attorney, when I looked that up, couldn't find it. My mother had 2 cars, jewelry, money stashed. Friend says my mother told her to sell it all. It all just doesn't jive. She tells me that they had a buyer for the house, but since their name wasn't on anything, they walked away...My mother had a 401k, had to have had an insurance policy. Friend said there was no will. I only get a call after she is dead, cremated, house emptied....anyone else think this just wasn't right?

My mother in law is very sick and isn't doing well. She has no money, and we have barely enough to survive. When she passes, who has to pay for her burial. If it is us, we can't afford it, and our credit is poor, due to my poor health, so we can't loan out any money. Does anyone know an answer or suggestion for help? Thanks

My girlfriend and I found this bond in her nightstand today. It was purchased 05/2000. I've been reading up on bonds on the US tresury website, but I just want to know when it will be worth the full $50. It says it is worth 30some now, but we want to know when we can cash it for the full price.

Keeping it simple, can you use your home equity to build acting as a contractor, so you have "instant equity" in the new home? I worked construction, both in the field and in the office, so I know the process of construction and can build, but what is the best way to use home equity to build bigger, and sell existing home? At the end, I hope to have more equity, because I have the same principle or even smaller, but more house.
