I am fed up of being charged for the odd direct debit bounce as I am £2/£3 short in my account only then to be charged £35 which they can take and make me overdrawn to which I get charged again.

I never use my overdraft and I don't need yet another credit card, are there any other 'bonuses'?

I have recently rolled over many of my former employers' 401K accounts into my current 401K account. None of the statements mentioned anything about the breakdown of these transfer amounts, e.g. their cost basis right before the transfer.

Do I have to know the cost basis of all my 401K accounts?

I recently was slammed with 10 overdraft charges of $35 each for 10 items that cleared my bank on the same day. It was my fault for overdrawing the account, of course, but I think the bank went overboard. Some of the overdrafts were for just a few dollars. I want to talk to the bank to ask them to reverse some of their fees. Looking for suggestions on how to get them to do this!

If I'm planning to do a dependent care FSA account, is the following correct? The $ I put in the account are pre-tax, I am reimbursed by giving receipts to my FSA program and receiving a check, etc. back. At the end of the year I get a receipt for dependent care, I can deduct that on my taxes. So, essentially I'm getting a double deduction?? Well, kind of??? Thanks for your help!

While in college, I ordered new checks each time I moved (usually ever year). Now I have at least 10 books of brand new checks, all with old addresses. I finally got smart and when I last moved, only ordered one box, compared to the 2 or 3 I've ordered in the past.

What's the best way to destroy all these brand new, wrong-address checks? It'll take forever to shred them with my shredder at home, and I don't feel comforable burning them (in my fireplace)?

Do any of the major office-supply stores offer document shredding?

Thanks!

I am single mother in an extremely bad situation, and i need about 8000.00.+ the reason for this loan is to relocate my daughter and I to a different location as well as purchase a vehicle for us. My ex- fiance, the father of my child has been trying to end my life for quite a while now, and this is my last resource for help. I have numerous protective orders and restraints against him but those don't do any good, because the police can never seem to catch him. I make good money at my place of employment, so repaying a loan on a monthly basis will not be an issue, however i need a lump sum to accomplish my goals and to remove us from this situation as soon as possible. I've tried other resources, but unfortunately because of my eight year relationship with this man, he left my credit in shambles, most of wich was not to my knowledge. I am now in the process of clearing all of this up, but i really need some help.

I have two credit card accounts from the same company. The first I've had since 2000. The second I've had since 2005. They both currently have the same limit but the older one has a higher interest rate than the newer has. I am not carrying a balance on the old card. What course of action is best? Cancelling the older account w the higher interest rate but with the longer history or the newer one with a shorter history but lower interest rate? Thanks for the advice.

I am a 37 year old single female. I have a 401K plan with my employer that I invest 15% of my salary, I also have an IRA. Should I decrease the amount I put into my 401K to just equal what my employer matches and invest in a Roth IRA? Any advice would be appreciated.
