I live in the state of Pennsylvania and we are being offered a severance of 9 months, and 12 months of medical and dental. When am I eligible for unemployment on the last payment or immediately after termination? (paid on a monthly basis, the last Friday of the month; in other words no lump sum) This question has bogged down even our HR team here on site. Please help.

You have an air conditioning unit in your plant that cost $95,000. You estimated its useful life at 7 years and expected to receive $13,000 when you sold it at the end of the 7 years. The air conditioner is 5 years old and has accumulated depreciation of $60,000. You have just replaced the compressor unit in the air conditioner because the old one was too small to handle the load. It cost $30,000 to replace the compressor. Because of this new compressor you now estimate that the air conditioner will last 5 more years. (A total 10 years instead of the original estimate of 7.) You do not think you will get any more for the air conditioner when you sell it than the original estimate. Show the Journal Entry for the $30,000 upgrade of the unit. You paid for the upgrade with cash.

Wanted to get my mom a digi photo frame for mothers day with photos from when we were kids. Granted my time-frame I cant send them in anywhere, and I only have an average scanner - although it might be cheaper to just go buy a great one if I want to do a ton of photos.

Anyone know of local business's that do this. Thought maybe a kinkos or a photo shop of something, will start calling around soon, just looking for suggestions.

Now if they could rip all my CD's too, this would be a great business.

Yes Im being a bit thick at present but if anyone can dish out some answers on this it would be much appreciated...

Ok Ranbir buys 1 toy for £50 inc VAT, Ranbir wants to make £10 profit. So he sells the toy for 50 + 10 + VAT. Does he add the VAT to the £60 or to the £10 only? and if he wants to reclaim the VAT he has paid on the £50 doe she have to be VAT registerd.

I think most of you can see where im gettign to on this question... im gettign in a pickle with buying and selling pricing, VAT, and registering for tax.

any ideas anyone ?

And who lets you set you own stop loss wherever you want. (I only ask this a Barclays CFD seems to not allow a stop loss on the FTSE 100 of less than 40 points off the mid point.

Any other comments on the relative merits / demerits of financial spread betting companies gratefully received.

As the company bookkeeper reviewing delinquent accounts receivable, you find that a relative of yours has not paid his account amounts of $550. You know that he has been experiencing financial difficulties, and so you set his account aside and do not include it with the other past due accounts sent to a credit collection agency. Comment on this action.
