About a month ago, I went grocery shopping. We had just moved and I had to stock a new pantry, refrigerator, and buy a lot of cleaning products, so the total was pretty high (about $300). I paid by check. When I got home, I discovered that the clerk (who was obviously a new employee) handed my check back to me with the receipt. I went back the next day to return the check.

What I am wondering is, if I hadn't found the check (or simply hadn't returned it), what would have happened? Would I have been charged for the groceries? Would the clerk be fired?

I'm not sure why, but I keep wondering about this. Any ideas?

I'm looking at an ususual (to me) financial statement, where cash flow is dramatically less than profits. In what circumstances could this be true? I'd always seen cash flow as exceeding profits, because profits subtract out non-cash charges (eg depreciation and amortization). I don't think I've ever seen profits exceed cash flow though-- does this ever happen? When?

I want to purchase some items on ebay. When you put in the final bid, does that mean it "will" go for that price? Or does the seller have the right to refuse it? I see the same thing for between 200 to 5000. Just different sellers and different kinds. And when you put a bid in, do they contact you by e-mail or phone? If you are the one to get it that is.

Hi,

Do anyone know the basic procedure to stop or cancel a money order? I have send a money order to a friend, but then realize that I'm addressing it to the wrong location. So it has been out for at least three days now, and I'm not sure has it been processed, but is it possible for me to put a stop or cancellation on it at this time? And it's a USPS money order.

Thanks.
