Say you sold a book on Amazon and shipped it off to the buyer. The buyer never receives it in all probability due to the item being lost in the mail.

What should the seller do? It's not his fault that USPS lost it. He has the receipt.

What should he do?

With the United States economy pushing the value of the US dollar ever further down against the world's other major currencies such as the pound Sterling and the euro, should the USA consider adopting the euro?

I work in the accounting department at a large law firm. I have some ideas on how to estimate cash flow in the coming year, but would like more suggestions. One way I am already doing is an excel spreadsheet that will examine the aging on recievables from last year, and the amount uncollected. Then take those percentages of beginning A/R (ie: what % of Januarys recievables were collected in Jan, then Feb, then Mar, then written off) and apply them to projected billables for the coming year. Does anyone have any other good suggestions?

New Kids on the Block Learning Center was founded in May of 2006 with the vision of establishing a positive learning environment for underprivileged children within the city of San Antonio. The vision stems from research performed on the poor academic performance of elementary school children that attend school in one of San Antonio’s low income neighborhoods located on the Eastside. In October of 2006, the building was complete and the doors were opened as the founders of New Kids on the Block Learning Center began working towards its vision.

I signed up for an online subscription in June. I submitted a request to cancel a few days later, but the company never acknowledged my request to cancel my subscription. I have continuously tried to contact them, asking them to cancel and refund the amounts charged to my credit card in error, but they are unwilling to cooperate. As of this writing, the company owes me $99.75. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding this issue, but the BBB could not get a response from the company. I want to try to resolve this once and for all.

I have a declared interest in this one - I work in supply chain security. I'm supposed to know all the answers but manifestly I don't. Is it dirty bombs in sea freight containers? Is it general stupidity allowing another group of hijackings like 9/11? Will it be coercion by kidnap. Where will be the hotspots? I'd really like to see what other people think. Even, are we taking it too far (my feeling is probably yes in we're applying it with a trowel and not using our intelligence to target risk).

I see, almost daily, new supply chain security initaitives - and they're all very similar, very onerous, very bureaucratic and definitely one-size-fits-all. What would be a better approach? Do we need security at all?

Love to hear from you!
