I went to this website.
http://www.hipaa.org/

I went to bottom of page to additional code sets. I found place of service but I never was able to get the page to open properly in adobe reader. It indicated there was a problem with the file.

My other suggestion would be to call your edi intermediary for assistance. Have you tried calling bcbs directly to find out more detail of what is happening with claims? Depending on how it is coming back to you have you looked at the electronic ra or if you still get them this way the paper ra. It may shed some light on the issue for you.

You could also try calling CMS for listing of certain codes like this one. They may refer to the web site but if you aren't able to open file either then tell them that so they may send you a paper copy or email it to you.

I no longer work in this field but I did for 16 years. I'm sorry I don't remember all the codes. With some of my suggestions I am not trying to sound insulting just giving suggestions.

Best of luck finding out what is going on. Since all the hipaa changes it can make a person want go running screaming from the room in frustration. I think my hair got 25% grayer due to the hipaa changes. lol
