I just sold some shares on etrade yesterday. But i found the money is not available for investment today, although it is on balance. How long does it take to become available for withdrawal or investment on etrade? Any better broker? Thanks!

Theory says the discounted FCF model is the best way to get the true instrinsic value of a stock. However, in the real world, this model does not come up with number close to the ones you see on the analysts' reports. Any idea why?

Detrending adjusts for inflation. But then any long term trends are removed right? So do many traders detrend?

I am using Scottrade.com to buy/sell stocks. However, Scottrade does not have Level II quotes for OTC stocks. I would like to use other online services to get more streaming information especially the Level II service. Other online brokers need $2000 to open an account (I am not willing to spend that much to switch accounts at this time since the fees are higher than Scottrade). In addition, some of the live quotes services charge more than $50/month to obtain such information. I am looking for a Level II service that is cheap since I can get most of the other information either online or through Scottrade.com. Anyone has suggestions?
Thanks.

I am hoping to make some money by buying stocks that are maybe the next big thing. I am really interested in Amazon's other companies like ChaCha search but I don't think it is publicly traded. I am just looking for some good suggestions.

Because it actually minimizes the variance... shouldn't it be minimum-variance model? :)

My daughter dies last month and I had a $10,000 life insurance policy on her. (only because is was a basic offer with my own policy.) Anyway, I want to invest this money for her little sister so when she gets older she will either be set for life or at least be able to live off the intrest. Does anyone have any ideas about how to go about doing this.

Analysts are basically full of beans, because all of the so-called "negative factors" that are supposedly crashing the market today were just as present last week.

Is there a difference? Please explain in Taxes for dummy form. I have no clue what this all means. All I know, is that I get money taken out, and build a savings. lol

Oh, and when I leave my current employer which I have the 401k, and then go to the new employer which has the 403B, can I take out money before I put it in the new plan? Will I be taxed?
