well i have invested in two stocks ABB and DLF. well i just told the broker to invest in DLF. DLF is listed in both NSE and BSE. the stock price of DLF at which he bought was 646.(something). how do i konw that the stock price has increased? just explain me when the stock prices are updated. sometimes in the ticker in the TV. it says up arrow 46.40 or suddenly the next minute it is down arrow 3.80 but the stock price remains the same. how do i know if the stock price increased or decreased. and sometimes, the stock DLF is not displayed in the TV ticker at all...only sometimes they show. that is not the case with ABB...they display its stock price everytime. just tell me how can i know if the stock price has increased. ..? the up arrow increases but the stock value remains the same..

I'm going to get a job that pays $180,000 a year for up to 3 years. I want the money to make more money while I'm working that job through stock markets.

I want to take the money I earned and quit the job and with that capital I want to start my own small business. I want to open up an auto repair shop. A nice one that also does more stuff than repair cars. I don't want to blurt out my exact business plan since it's my own idea.

I then want to have the money to build my dream house which should cost around $500,000

Can I do this? Is this possible? Do I need a financial consultant? Stock Broker? A good lawyer? What do I need to do? What should I watch out for?

For example, I understand about insider trading laws and any breaches of confidentiality, but just curious that in Europe and Canada the attorneys and investment bankers can address questions from research analysts looking for clarification or additional information, but that doesn't seem to be the case here in the US. So, I was curious, other than Reg FD is there a specific law that restricts them (is there a quiet period during a M&A deal)?

I usually see bid and offer price in screen to trade. In the paper or online news, however, they show only one price for reference. Is that bid price or offer price? Thank you very much for your response!!

I'm doing some research on retirement plans for a company that has about 100 employees, average age 40. They are considering offering 401K, and would like some answers on:

1. % of employers that “match” ?
2. typical percentage or amount matched
3. Do they do it at so many years or immediately?
4. Do you have to be fully vested prior to matching?
5. Any employers that do it right away/ at one year, etc

If YOU own a business with similiar demographics or are the advisor to one, would you please give us some insight?
