the loss was due to the stock going down. i originally paid $140. a share and when i finally decided to get out the stock had lost down to $43 a share. i kept hoping it would go back up but that didn't happen. i know, i know i should have gotten out long before i did. is there any way to recover some of it?

well known stock doesn't necessarily a good one. pick high quality stocks though they are not famous one, base on their ROE and earnings per share growth.

Doesn't matter, Learn From Your Mistake....
Why did you buy the stock, Was it a tip?, Did you analyze the fundementals of the balance sheet, What was the P/E ratio
How about Sales increase over previous years.

There are so many ways to analyze a stock, and so many people buy what they hear on the news or the web.


Sorry you lost, but take this lesson as a reason to find a better way to pick stocks

one thing most investors will tell you is never put all your eggs in one basket. Pick stock from different industries (tech, pharmaceutical...etc). I usually tend to go for the stock that are priced around 20 to 40 bucks a pop.

If its so low, best you can do is wait. Ita has to go up again. And sell when you have a decent loss you can accept
