There is no "safe" area in the stock market. There are areas that are considered to have more opportunity (still with risk).
Technology has had a terrible run since Feb. 2000. There are many people that believe its time has come (again). But as stated above there is still "risk".

All of the world is changing, and technology is revolutionizing so it is a really good choice. I own Microsoft, and it has gotten me pretty far in the stock market.

Because we are going to need a lot of Toshiba notebook computers, Apple Ipods, Sony Playstations and Motorola Telephones in the future.
