I have two daughters, one fifteen years old in high school and the other is 21 and a college student. I am a 49 year old woman and in fair health. My husband is a Vietnam vet in fair health as well and will be eligible for medicare this year, so he will not need this insurance.

On Friday night 2/20/2007 my husband and I came home to find our 18 year old son had fallen on his left foot and fractured it. We immediately took him to the closest Emergency Room. They did several x-rays gave him an injection for pain and sent him home with the instructions to call his primary care physician for a referral to an orthopedist on Monday. I had to insist on seeing the x-rays (I am an RN) and was appalled at what I saw. He had two breaks on one bone. One was still in line but the other was seriously displaced. Since then we have not been able to find a doctor to see him. It seems that because he is self-pay no one cares. I've been given several excuses but I know and his primary physician concurs that it is because of his lack of insurance. If this is not set soon it may leave him crippled for life. If anyone has any suggestions I would very much like to hear them. If there is an orthopedist in Georgia that would agree to see him please contact me ASAP. Thanks

A friend of mine took out a home insurance policy last year (sep-06). His tank in the airing cupboard has now burst and his house is flooded. He contacted his insurance company and they informed him that the direct debit had been cancelled in January 07.

He lost his debit card in December and the bank refused to pay the insurance company and cancelled the DD as they had the incorrect card details (from his lost card).

What is the best thing for him to do now?

Is it the banks fault for cancelling the DD or the insurances for not requesting an alternative payment method - no correspondance has been received from the bank or the ins company?

to begin with i was a minor at the time and they are sending me to collections for visits my insurance was never billed for in 2002. I guess the physical therapy place never mailed the bill to my insurance and now my insurance says it is not their problem they were never billed before and refuse to pay. Am i obligated to pay for the therapist mistake of not billing my insurance?

(owned by LLC)His old gutters (no end cap), old roof causing water seepage/bubbling paint/mold on my interior exposed brick walls. His rotting extension room is leaving roofing-like tiles falling on my deck.Owner on other side placed drilled/nailed a metal box from his HVAC onto my wood-paneled extension yrs ago and now would is pulling away and rotting. Do I call city hall? Will my insurance co pay or theirs????? Am I covered from a neighbor's neglect or illegal placement of box on my wall??

If not, why? Do you pay out of pocket or does your job have the benefits?

My neighbor lets his two BIG dogs out a couple times a day for a few minutes. I am very afraid of dogs. Sometimes they come into my yard as I am walking up very steep stairs. I'm afraid that I may fall one of these times when they come at me.

Note: They are not mean, do not attack, but are overly friendly and move fast (surprise attack).

If I got hurt, would I be able to sue the neighbor for the dogs coming on my property, or would my homeowners insurance have to cover it?

P.S. Please NO advice about talking to neighbor beforehand to avoid situation, I just want to know legally what could be done.

Thanks!!!

My girlfriend just graduated from college, but she is covered under student health insurance until August of 2007. She just got a job, which gives her free health insurance from Aetna, which means for about 7 months she's going to have two health insurance plans. My question is, is there a way to have it so that one insurance company pays their responsibility, say, the 80% of the medical bill, and then the other company pays the 20% that would be your copayment, so that you end up paying nothing between the two of them? If not, then what is the benefit of having two insurance plans, if there is one.

Thanks

My husbands health insurance changed its deductible from 1,000 to 2,200. His employer said they couldn't afford the increase in rates and the insurance technically ran out 2/1 but the insurance company extended it for them. The union doesn't want coverage changed at all. We got a surprise today when we went to the pharmacy and picked up our prescriptions which should have been only about $50 and it was $250. After calling the insurance company they said our insurance was changed. Can your employer do that without even telling you. Shouldn't they have to give you some kind of notice!
