I was offered an an insurance agent position. But still unsure about taking it. They seem to offer quite a bit

Please if you will, whats your opinion of this company, or are they (ins.co's) all the same.

Well, from experience - our independent agency bought another independent agency that had Farmers as one of its companies. We are ending the agency contract with them for a few reasons - their website is NOT user friendly, and they expect the agent to make all the changes online (which would be fine if the system was easy to use). They don't have a specific underwriter that we can speak to, just call & you get who you get (we have an assigned underwriter at all of our other companies), each car goes on a separate policy with different effective dates, which totally confuses the billing - you don't know which car you are paying for at any given time & if there is a cancellation notice it is not for all the cars, it is just one or two. The billing is confusing for the agent - imagine how it is for an insured. Putting it mildly, we can't wait to get rid of them.
Keep looking for another agent job, try an independent agent. If you are in the field to help insureds, this is the best way to do it. You will have so much more to offer them.

over the course of 4 yrs i have worked for 2 independent agencies that both wrote for farmers. both have left them behind in the dust. i now live in fayetteville, nc and i only know of 1 agent in the area that will still write for them. they are horrible to deal with and their claims dept is crazy. i would never reccommend them to a client

no.... ppl don't like insurance companies...so I guess workers don't like themselves.... oh well who knows.
take a job that will make u happy...whatever it may be..
