Last week, while leaving my university campus I hit a guy outside my dorm room tower. I was minor damage, probably a couple scratches, yet enough to get money out of the situation. He was a nice guy and we only exchanged names and phone numbers and not insurance company or license info. Although he called a couple times over the next week, I refused to answer my phone (which is a terrible thing to do). I have obtained a parking permit under the university's parking services and I guess he could look me up through RMV and other services, but can he find my insurance policy and info (which my parents pay 4) and other valuable information (which he could even obtain through my college)?

The market value of the house is worth 300K.
The loan amount is of 275K.
The cost to rebuild is 200K.

Would you be required by the mortgage company to get insurance to cover the loan amount of 275K?

Today, my wife was in our minivan & ice flew off the top (we cleared as much as we could) & broke a windshield behind her. Info exchanged & not hurt. The guy says he's ok with us just paying for the repairs & not having to go through the insurance. But I heard bad stories of that, like they come back & try to sue.

I called our insurance (just to ask, b/c I dont want our rates to go up if avoidable) & they said that sounds like a comprehensive claim & his company should pay. I dont want to stiff the guy, since it did come off our van & we want to be responsible for what we are responsible for, & dont want to get taken advantage of either since we are trying to do right. But that didnt sound right that we are not to pay anything & its his problem.

Any advice would be great!

I worked for a doctor for 3 years where I developed carpel tunnel. I reported it to my supervisor who then bought me supports and a argonomic keyboard and accessories but never filed a claim with workers comp. The only treatment I received from my PCP was advice on pain medications during those 3 years. I now work for another doctor and had very severe symptoms one evening. I reported it to my new supervisor who reported it to workers comp. The insurance company told me that treatment now won't be approved because my previous employer never filed a claim.

Am I going to have to end up using my personal health insurance for my claims? Should I do something about my previous employer not filing a claim?

I am in my late 20's and have 2 daughters. Thru my employer I have about $1 million group term life insurance policy plus death benefit thru vested pension plan. Should I go ahead and purchase additional term life insurance from the 3rd party or would it be the waste? I cannot afford permanent life insurance policy due to extremely high premiums.
It seems to me that I should not seek additional policy since I will always be employed and when I am unemployed I could always initiate a term policy then? What are the arguments?

I have been with the same insurance company for quite a while now, and I really need to switch because it has gotten outrageous. I have only ever had one minor accident in all the years I have driven, but everytime I try to get an insurance quote so I can switch companies, they tell me I do not qualify for insurance because of my husband's revoked license. (Child support). Anyway, can anyone please tell me any companies who would be willing to take me on? Thanks!

I am not sure how much home insurance coverage I should have for the house I bought 2 years ago. The cost of the house including the land was $96,000. But that includes the price of the land, etc.

I now have to renew the home insurance policy and realized maybe I should reduce the amount of the coverage from $96,000 to around $80,000. The dwelling amount for the insurance has been the price I paid for, $96,000. But if something happens and the house needs to get rebuild, the cost of building should not be as high as $96,000. I currently owe mortgage $70,000.

Do you have any recommendation? I do not know if I can ask the insurance agent to reduce the dwelling coverage. But I am hoping a way to save money on the home insurance.
Could someone give me an advice?

Thank you.

My boyfriend whom I love very much, is ill. He does not have insurance or a job. We live in Texas, so we could very easily be common law married. If something were to happen to him, will I end up having to pay his medical bills? Will this effect the disability he is receiving from the US government?
