Someone told me I'll hurt my credit if I close them and that I should use them every so often and pay them off ASAP. I feel if I have them laying around, I'll use them! Even if I destroy the cards themselves I still have most of the info to use them online, etc. So do I: close the accounts or leave them open and hope I don't get myself in over my head again?

I have a formula that will compute compounding interest (FV = PV(1+i)^n), however this formula will not take into account annual contributions made during the life of the investment. Could someone show me how to alter this formula, or provide a new formula, that would allow for contributions?

Thanks in advance.

My daughter is considering the purchase of one and I'm wondering if, like a home, one can build equity over time or does it simply depreciate like a car?

I am looking for a former coworker that moved to Oregon. She left about a year ago and I have got x-mas cards and whatnot but never saved the address (don't know why!), I know her old address so I wanted to see if there was a search or something with name/address. Preferably that you DON'T have to pay for?

I'd:

1) pay off my debts;
2) help any friends or family who needed help;
3) buy a house and one of those little sporty Mercedeses;
4) give some away to charities;
5) establish a foundation in my name;
6) go back to school fulltime and get my degree;
7) not worry about anything anymore!

1. Given below are data for demand and supply curves for footballs.

Price ($): 16 20 24 28 32
Quantity demanded: 90 80 70 60 50
Quantity supplied: 30 50 70 90 110

(a) In this market, the equilibrium price is $24 and equilibrium quantity is $70. (2 points)

(b) Using mid-point elasticity formula, the price elasticity of supply between the price of $24 and $28 is 1.65. (2 points)

(c) Suppose the government imposes a tax on consumers in this market. As a result consumers buy 30 units less at each price. The new equilibrium quantity in this market is 50. (2 points)

(d) After the tax, consumers pay a price of $32 while the sellers receive $20. The government receives a tax of $12 per unit. (2 points)

how we calculate (c) and (d) ??

thank you very much guys

I have a SEP IRA through a company I work for that has established a SEP for me. I am starting another job as well and that company does not have a SEP plan for it's employees, I would like to put money from my second job into my current SEP, is that possible? And if so, what is the percentage that I use for my second job...the first job puts in 20% for me....I want to put in 20% for my second job too, but the money will be taxed before I put it in there, is that part legal? Any advice would help...And please don't tell me to find a financial advisor, I would like to find out on my own. Thank you.

I recently sent a resume and cover letter in response to an ad for an administrative assistant. The next day I received an e-mail from the potential employer with a downloadable job application for me to complete and return. One of the questions on the application is "May we contact your present employer?". OK, standard question. But then right beside it is "If no, why?" I don't want my current employer to know that I am looking for another job. How should I answer the "why" question without saying my current company totally blows??? Thanks!

I got a letter from the credit card company after I applied to them and they say they need to speak with me in person - I cant figure out why they'd need to after I gave them all my information. Is it just so they can reject me and take some sick pleasure out of doing it over the phone?
