I got a letter from the credit card company after I applied to them and they say they need to speak with me in person - I cant figure out why they'd need to after I gave them all my information. Is it just so they can reject me and take some sick pleasure out of doing it over the phone?

Maybe they need more info. to be sure you actually did submit the form and it's not a nasty prank to ruin you credit.

I totally understand how you feel. But I don't think they would want to get pleasure out of rejecting you over the phone. It may be that someone else may have the same name as yours and they need to verify more information from you.

I had to deal with the same thing from a credit card company. Go ahead and give them a call. It won't hurt.

Credit card companies would not do such things to get 'sick pleasures'. Afterall they are here to do business. And they can only do business if they offer their cards to the most of the people that apply for it.

May be they need to verify some more information from your side. But always make sure that you are speaking to the right person as it may be possible to misuse the same if it falls in wrong hands.

I would make sure that it is actually a letter from the company and not a fake trying to get your personal information.

They will probably try to sell you that bullcrap insurance of theirs. You know, if you lose your job for any reason you won't have to make a payment or the interest stops. Don't go for it. It's not a good deal and just refuse it. Chances are you'll still get the card.

No, just to verify some personal information.
