A friend of mine distrusts banks etc and hoards his cash in his house. I told him he's an idiot as someone could break in and steal it. He says they'll have a job it's all in coins! But if there was a fire (if the thieves aren't put off with the weight) wouldn't the coin burns if it was intense heat. Thats his argument, notes would burn coins wouldn't. But I'm not sure. Would his coin collection be safe if his house caught fire?

If a person gets a tax refund, is there a rule of thumb for increasing your exemptions on your W-4 in order to get more money back during the year? At one time, I heard that for every $600 you get back on your federal return, you can increase your exemptions by 1. This assumes that your financial situation is similar to last year.

i have never sold anything on the internet before.so i am leery.
i recieved a potential buyer. It is from a 3rd party and I stated i would only accept a personal check or a cahiers check, and i would have to have the money up front before i shipped. well their response is that the coat is going to their client in africa and they are paying for shipping and handling and they will send the money first and they have no problem paying. they seem to want my name and address and phone number. In the ad i placed my phone number in already, and i have recieved no call.. am I being suspicious?? this whole thing seems shady.. what is the best way to handle this??

I currently attend school to pursue accounting (still have 3 years, tho!) and have been offered 2 jobs within a week in Baltimore City.

The first job I was offered is with HSBC as a Customer Accounts Rep (I'll be the one you talk to about questions on your statements and accounts) and the pay is $11.75/hr plus bonuses with a schedule of M,Tu, Th, F, SU 1:30-10:30pm. I like the fact that the company wants to hire me, but the wage is lower than my last position by $3.25.

The second position is with ADP, a worldwide payroll, business administration and HR mecca. You may have seen ADP on your paychecks. The position is temp to perm and pays $15.63 with mandatory overtime during Nov-Feb which is just an hour extra a day. The schedule is M-F 9-5:30 and the benefits would be thtough my temp agency which is great, and I love the agency.

I can advance with both companiesas I obtain my degree, so both are a viable option. Both also offer great health/dental/401K benefits, too

Help!
