My mortgage takes up most of my income. What type of lender should I look for and would they give me a chance with such a high debt to income ratio? Any suggestions from someone with experience? I am interested in renting to section 8 tenants also.

I have been told that altho I have 2 checking accounts under my name only:first name, maiden name like middle name + husband's name listed last (not hyphenated) if a divorce occurs, the money would be part of the marital assests, subject to husband getting some of this money. If I can open an account under maiden name only, is that money subject to being counted as part of the marital assets? Or do I just hide cash in a shoe box??

I understand that this is a way in which they will make there capital, but it is so unfair on the customer. Day light robbery !!! To be realistic, what could this amount cover? maybe the lunch and a coffee for the banker writing the letter and a1st class stamp. Oh silly me they use computers to send them out.... ummm!!

Annuities are misunderstood by everyone including the media & financial advisors. We fully understand annuities now by reading all the details ourselves and then have a professional in annuities answer our questions. I just put $3.9 mil into fixed annuities for my retirement needs.

You should do what I did. Fixed Annuities are for everyone young and old.

today i receive a email from a website.
the site say i won 1 million dollars,and in the email there is a photo of the 1 million dollars check.
and the website gave the claim id.
there is a link to claim my money,after i click the link,there appeared a new page.
in the page there are many numbers,you should click 6-7numbers,and validate them.
and the are "quick click","hot click"
what i would like to ask is :whether i won 1 million dollars indeed?
if the website is a cheat website?

I'm thinking of buying a 2nd property. I'm told that Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT) might bite upon eventual transfer or sale. Obviously, I'd like to avoid this if possible.

3 questions:

1. If i haven't yet bought the property is there a way i can legitimately avoid CGT upon eventual sale of the 2nd property that is too be purchased?

2. If that property is to be bought abroad, does it effect anything?

3. I have a 4 month old baby. Is there aything preventing me buying a UK property in the baby's name? Does the answer differ if the 2nd property to be bought is abroad?

4. If the 2nd property has already been bought, can it be transferred into the name of the baby without attracting CGT or other Tax implications?

Amount of rent is about half the standard amount; landlord will not make any repairs nor replace existing appliances if one fails or stops working; does not do a background check nor base rentability based on income nor credit rating; states renter is responsible for replacing any appliances that fail - and can take them as their own if they ever leave; allows pets; allows renter to modify house with fencing or patio if he/she wants - at his own expense.

I rent out two such properties - houses - and have been told I am breaking the law with this practice. Both are in good areas and neither needs any repairs. I believe in giving the little guy a second chance. Is that such a bad thing? Why or why not? Would you rent a house with these circumstances?

I recently bought my children some items at a "children" type of store. When I paid with my check card the girl ran it twice & told me it went thru on the second try. I couldn't understand why she had 2 run it twice, so I told her that I'd like to leave my name & number because something didn't seem right. Later that day there was a message on my answering machine explaining that the girl who ran my card was new & that it never went through. I checked my statement online & in the pending items the amount was taken out twice. I waited until the next day 2 call, so I could check my account again to see if it was taken out twice. I tried calling the store manager 2 let her know I wasn't avoiding her, I was just making sure I didn't pay 3X. She wasn't in when I called. Later that day she left me a message 2 call her immediately. I called 2 she began yelling at me about how she had to get this taken care of. I explained to her that I wouldn't until I saw the items taken out of my account.
