This person wants to get me a credit card & is willing to pay for what I get, but I'm under 18. Can this person pay for it AND it be in my name, if we aren't related? I know something like that works out for college students, but I'm not in college at the moment, even though I will be in a few months. I won't be 18 until next spring, so it'll be a little while. Anyone know if that's legal and if I can do that? And yes this person that wants to get me a credit card is over 18.

Okay, I applied for a job back in mid-June. I have since had FOUR interviews (3 by phone, one in person) for the job. 3 weeks ago the HR lady told me I was the prime candidate and pretty much led me to believe I'd get the job pending the background check. The background check took a little more than TWO weeks and was just completed yesterday afternoon, but I still haven't had an offer. I emailed the HR lady today to make sure everything was fine w/my background check, and she said it was. So we're going on a 2 month long process now, and still no offer. Is this typical in CORPORATE America? I thought private industry was supposed to be faster than government.

I have been living in the US for 9 years as a perminent resident - and am planning on moving back to the UK where I have citizenship. Will I be able to transfer these funds to a similar institution? Also what will happen to the social security I have accrued? If there is a link anyone can send me (sorry to be so long winded!) - Chloe

not knowing their new salary. Is this right? The company has not told them. Is there something that will tell the company that prior to the employees signing documents stating if they plan to stay or go, the company should disclose the new wage if an employee opt to stay?

I am fine with most of the charges - the reletting fee, and reimbursement of discounts and concessions. The part I am concerned about is that they are trying to charge me 60 days worth of market rent, which totals nearly $2k. Can they charge me for rent when they will most likely already have someone else living here??

I am an independent contractor and am used to setting and working my own hours, having almost no oversight, being well-paid, but also, have been doing this work for almost 10 years. I could settle in or I could begin again. The new job would be one that would require me to be there whether I felt like it or not, have much, much, much oversight including at least a 12 member board, to a national organization.

I borrowed someone in my family a few thousand dollars for a very important thing, and I lived in a different state than the person, so I had my bank wire it to their account. They promised they would pay me back $1000 a month because they were recieving that much a month in social security checks. This was back last November, I still haven't seen a penny of it, and the person now keeps saying 'you'll never get your money back'. All I have legally I think to show the court is the bank statements showing the transfer, so how would this hold up in small claims courts? Do I have a case/ would I win it? I'm very very frustrated...my relationship with this person is fine other than this issue...but I really really need my money back.

I am a business management major and I have always wanted to open up my own business. I wanted to do something different and something fun. I'm plus size myself(obviously) and I have a serious passion for fashion( hope that didn't sound too corny) I know it takes more than a knowledge of fashion but business sense (i have both because i am a business major and i went to a design school) So i think it would be too much fun to do this! What do you think?

After sold the condomenium, the title company wires the balance which incl. 2nd loan (bank line of credit which they forget to paid) to the seller. If the seller decided to keep it, will this enough for escrow company or title company to file criminal charge against the seller? or just civil charge?

We owe about $30,000 in credit cards because we both lost our jobs two years ago.We have been in a downward spiral for the past two years and have incurred all the debt in that time. Just two years ago we were debt free and didn't even owe on our car. We had to sell our car and buy another one while we still had good credit and we used that money to pay bills until it ran out. Now we are in way over our heads because we are still only making 1/2 of what we were before. Consumer Credit Counselling told us that we need to make $700 more per month before they will take us, but we are both already working full time and we have a family at home. We stopped paying our credit cards about 4 months ago. We are worrying about what legal actions these credit card companies can take. We don't own our own home or any property. Can they guaranshee (sp?) our wages? Help!

The person may ask me why I don't do something else and could tell me I could do something better, etc. Isn't this TOTALLY inappropriate for the work environment?

I work with A LOT of people. I have meetings in and out of my organization. I work with men and women usually 30-65 ( I am 26). My job requires that I have great interpersonal skills, community development, and customer service. I am often “representing” my organization/employer. I am professional with everyone!

My dilemma… for the last three or four weeks a man that works for another agency has been getting too friendly. I have been making sure he keeps his distance. Does not cross the line. However, he has become more and more aggressive. Last week the put his hand on my shoulders and squeezed (not cool). Today he said I “looked REAL nice” and looked me up and down.

I want to keep it cool. It is important that I keep a good working relationship with him, but I do not want to feel uncomfortable any longer and I do not want to make the problem worse…
