For instance in my town (Witney Oxon) the house prices continue to rise even theough the average salary is too low to rent let alone buy a house. Also people are being made redundant in manufacturing and there is no new work for them.. Is it just a matter of time before we have a crash?

Someone is threatening to sue me (they are currently unaware that have concrete evidence proving I wasn't responsible for what they say I am). I received a letter from their lawyer in which they state, quite categorically, that I am responsible. Obviously this is untrue and so would constitute libel, but I am unsure as to whether the fact that the letter was addressed soley to me affects this status?

I suppose I'm asking does written slander (Libel) have to be openly published?

Can your employer/company refuse to insure your significant other because you are not married ?
My nephew started a new job and put his girlfriend on his insurance.The company just found out they were not married and told him he could not put her on his insurance and canceled her.

He was married x 2. over 12 years both times. He has been on the railroad for about 38 yrs when he retires.
I have worked forever in a very stable profession and make almost as much as he does, so if I marry him, probably will not be entitled to anything. I contributed to social security and have a 403b. Also, his ex's have both re married and neither one put a clause in the divorce decree to get part his retirement crazy enough. They freaking "forgot" I guess. I worry about my financial future if I marry him. He is quite a bit older than I and has some serious health issues showing up. I dont know much about railroad retirement.
Do you know anything?

Im starting a personal chef service in AUG, GA. Im hitting a wall trying to price my services. The jist of my business is I am hired by clients to come into their home and prepare meals for them. I can either prepare several meals at once that they can freeze, or I can prepare a meal that is going to be consumed immediately. For the meals that are going to be froze, im giving the option of choosing packages of 3,5,7,10,or 14 meals.
What would you pay to have someone come into your home and prepare meals for you and your family, and what would you pay to have someone come in and prepare a meal for a date or a dinner party?

I started getting child support after being divorced since 1989. The kids are raised, but I guess the judge didn't forget, so now I have money coming in like manna from heaven. I go to the bank, cash the checks and purchase I bonds. Should I be putting this money in some other type investment? I am not about to give it to my grown irresponsible kids.
