My boyfriend was hired by a company and began work on May 1. When he was hired he was offered a lower salary than he requested, however the manager told him he could probably get him his requested salary contingent upon his 90 day review (which would be August 1).
This is a good job with good benefits, and because of my boyfriend's education/qualifications, he is a top canidate for being promoted quickly in the company. However my boyfriend feels that he doesn't necessarily want a future with this specific company because of the unprofessional way it is being run.
So my question is this - We think the company is not going to bother with the 90 day review (that's just the way things have been going at the company.) Should he let it go and just deal with not receiving the modest pay change? Or should he ask for the 90 day review and then risk the high chance of them not granting the pay raise?
