No. Money can never buy happiness. Money can only buy material comforts, which we often confuse with happiness. Happiness has nothing to do with our physical being, or things which we are having. Happiness is purely associated with our mental being. That is why we have to find our own happiness. Happiness can not be bought. But an illusion of happiness can be created among others with the help of money by surrounding ourselves with luxurious worldy things.

Money DOES buy happiness regardless if people want to believe it or not. Anyone who tries to tell you different is lying to you and themselves. If you think I'm lying, ask a "broke/financially strapped" person if they're truly happy. If they give you an honest answer, they'll tell you how miserable they are. Without money comes stress of bill collectors, daily survival, and often marital problems.
If you ask me they should change the wording used during weddings to say "...til DEBT do you part." Death has nothing to do with it...death will be the result of your marriage the minute finanal problems enter your lives.
The only people who say money can't buy happiness are those who don't have any. "Money doesn't/can't buy happiness" is just a phrase that "broke people" spend way too much time trying to convince themselves of.

It really depends. I don't think poor people or those without much money are "that" happy either. Of course having money to spare would be nice and if you buy things that make your family happy, I guess that's happiness in itself. But most of the time, people with lots and lots of money are indeed lonely because they don't know who their real friends are and if people are only friendly cuz of the money. Maybe the best would be - if you have money, don't flaunt it around.

While money is a very nice thing to have, I really don't believe that it by itself can be used to buy happiness. I do believe that money, used as a tool, can be used to buy things that could make a person happy.

i agree that money will have an affect on how happy you are at times. however, for me to be truly happy i do want people i love around. money simply relieves stress it doesn't really make someone happy or sad.
