I have been networking with people in Mainland China. We all speak Mandarin, know the country, people, system, etc. Can anyone advise me how to attract business leads please? I know it is not easy to start a freelance job but I believe it is worthy to try. Thank you.

I currently reside in Africa with vast experience in textiles and the clothing industry as a whole. I have been looking for ways and means of importing quality materials from china for retailing in most “developed” African countries like South Africa. You can look into this avenue, i.e. African corporations. Most of them are still very small but they are willing to grow into big multinationals.

I have been able to pinpoint products that are interesting in the African market and that are doing well and it always comes at a shock to people outside of Africa that there are places in Africa that there are more Bentleys per square mile than there are in Beverly Hills, US. With the advent of the 2010 world cup you might find it very profitable to be the middle person between the African countries and the people’s republic of China.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
