I know there's a lot out there but I'm looking for one that is the least vague, most cost-efficient, most comprehensive and of course, most effective. Please be specific. I need something beyond just the vague basics.

I am moving to and buying a home in the San Francisco bay area (corporate relocation gives major subsidies to home purchases) but am a little afraid that I may be entering the market near the peak. I was wondering what kind of financial/ other instruments are available to individual investors that can act as a hedge against declines in the housing market (understanding that nothing will give 100% protection). I had come across futures that are being traded on the Chicago Merc Exchange ( http://www.cme.com/trading/prd/env/housingover16250.html ) but was not even sure how to approach what is potentially a very complex hedging instrument. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

He knew my paypal address and he sold some stuff to a guy on ebay, the $4000 USD was sent to my account, he said he was going to send the merchandise to the buyer, but he never did, he just pocketed all of the money, he is not my friend anymore. Now i cannot use my paypal account because the buyer got a refund, so my account is negative 4000 USD, I wanted to sue my friend but tthe lawyer said it would cost 1000 USD to get the money back, I dont know what to do, I am very upset at my so called friend and I want to get him back...I called the police and they said they couldnt do anything, so what should I do, my parents don't know about this and I dont want to beat up my so-called friend because then I will get arrested. Please any advice will be helpful.

So, my Mother recently got a letter (along with a check for $3,400) stating that she is one of the winners in a 'Telephone & Light Bills Drawing' held a few weeks back and that her lump sum pay out is $50,000. She called the number given and spoke to the person mentioned.. The person (and in the letter) mentioned that we had to take some money out of the $3,400 to pay taxes, to send the money via Money Gram to an 'associate' in Georgia, to call that person back to confirm it and then her money would be sent to her within 48 hours via 'Express mail' of some sort...

Now, I am curious and want to hear some opinions... Do you think this is legitimate or just another scam?

It almost feels like if you don't want to get a master's degree you should just go to a technical school and learn a trade to get a real job. I feel like I waisted the last four years of my life!

I currently owe £61000 in debt on credit cards / loans etc and its costing me a fortune per month. I habe approx £80000 in equity in my home and could easily afford to increase my small mortgage to cover the debts. When mortgage companies look at remortgaging do they take into account that you will be paying all your debt off when looking to see if you can afford the repayments?
