When I escape the rat race, I will probably be plunged into some "gopher" race or something that is just as tedious and wretched.

I agree I'm going to learn Spanish and move to Southern Spain when I eventually escape the rat race. I have a few years ahead of me yet. But I will grow all my own vegetables and be as self sufficient as I can be - I can't wait. We all should know where we want to end up and that's where I will be. I still have my last year at Uni to do but that's why I'm studying to achieve all my goals before I die. It's all about planning and I have a lot more things to achieve before escaping the rat race.

Already have. Started living and working on boats years ago. Life on the water is very relaxing and if you can combine it with your job it's the perfect contrast to the rat race.

Take a year out if you can afford in and go back packing buy a inter-rail ticket for europe or an airline ticket and visit new places, meet new people, it well worth it

Yes, that's what I try to do. I might try to race with the turtles for awhile; it may cut back on the level of my stress.

learn spanish. move south. somewhere simple. near abundant food sources. forget about things like dsl.
