It depends on which state you reside in, what age you are and what job you're doing. The current federal minimum wage is $5.15 and has not been increased since 1998.
For example, in Illinois, it's $6.50, but $6.00 for employees under the age of 18.
In West Virginia, it's $5.15, but $4.25 for tipped employees, like waiters and waitresses

I think federal min. wage is $5.15 - and it shouldn't matter your age because that's the whole point of a minimum wage and labor laws. This may vary from state to state - best advice i can give is search your state's department of labor (should just be able to go to yahoo and type your state's name and the word "department of labor") hope that helps :) You do have to have a work permit if you are under the age of 18 in most places, but you can get that easily and if required in your state that should be on the department of labor's site as well.

It depends on what state you're in.In illinois I think its $5.15 if they haven't raised it. Minimum wage isn't dependent on age. Any one at a particular job who is hired on a minimum wage rate, will get paid the same, doesn't matter if one is 40 or 16. .

It's the same as for adults, though the government website did mention that for the first 90 days, and employer can pay someone aged 20 or younger $4.25 an hour.
