Skin & Body - August 2006

I'm not scared, but I don't know how to tell my mom that I want to shave! There's a pool party tomorrow for my graduating class, so there isn't enough time to get a waxing appointment, like my mom does. All the girls waxed/shaved their legs [they've either been shaving for even seventh grade] and most just started this week. I'm the only one who'll have hairy legs on Friday.
I want to do it, but I don't know how to bring it up with my mom. Plus, she's at work right now, so I'd have to call her up, and all.
The last time I did something crazy without telling her, I cut my own bangs, because all the girls had them, and I was one of the few whose mom's didn't let them get "hair in their eyes." I denied it for a long time, and finally I told my mom after like 3 months, and she got really mad and upset that I lied and broke her trust, etc.
I don't want this to be the case.
Now I know this is really childish, but my mom shampoos my hair on Saturday. She'll notice

I remember when I got my gym membership, they told me that a personal trainer could teach me how to burn more calories and get a better workout, in less time than a regular workout. Does anyone know how this works exactly? Does it depend on which workouts you do? If so, which ones? I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and my routine is basically, 25 min. Tredmil, 22 min. Eliptical and 20 min. Stair Master. I usually burn about 600-625 calories from this, and I have def. been seeing results since I joined the gym, so that's good. I also do some weight exercises, stretches, ab crunch, squats etc. at home. And if it makes any difference, I'm 23, 5'1", 130, in good health, and a non-smoker. I have already lost about 2-3 pounds in the past 5 weeks, but I want to lose another 6-7. I would really appreciate your advice!

My bf and I are goign to Cancun in a month and he is so pale he is practically see through. If he goes in the sun for even a half hour he burns. I was thinking of possibly putting him in a tanning bed, with sun screen for just a few minutes to help him get a base tan for the next couple of weeks so he won't burn so badly in Mexico. Is this a good idea? Or is there another way anyone can suggest?
