Yes, I already know it will hurt and I already know how to select a sterile shop and talented artist. This isn't my first.

Also, the belief that you can't recieve an epidural anesthetic with a sacral tattoo is *false*.

I have chosen this location because the sacrum is the keystone to your entire skeleton and the design has similar significance.

I have one there. If you have previous tattoos...the only thing you need to know is that it doesn't really hurt - its like the other ones...its just that the nerves along the spine made you jump...and if your tattoo artist is a good one..then they'll be able to work around it. You can take some pain meds..like ibroprofen...or something like that before, if you don't have a low tolerance for pain.

It is painful. the further out you go toward your sides the more it will hurt since there is a little more fat there than directly over your sacrum. Be careful of your clothes rubbing until it heals and keep it clean. Pretty much it.

I have also heard that doctors won't do the epidural if a tattoo is in the way, but I also heard that it depends on the doctor.

Just piggybacking on Isabel's answer :)

You won't get an epidural if you need it.
Doctors don't perform epidural anesthesy with a previous tattoo in the area.

Pain, pain, & more pain.

Why would you want to put a tattoo in a place where 99% of people will never see it?

I think that you should be proud of your tattoo and to have it visible for the world to see.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

Tatoos suck and I hope it hurts like a bastard when you get it done. I will never understand tatoos. I hope you enjoy showing it off when you are old and wrinkled and you have no idea what it is. Go for it sport-o.

Like I really care about poorly rated answers.
