Sit ups alone, my dear doesn't get you a flat stomach. The more aerobic exercise you do (as well as watching your diet) will get you to where you want to be. Start on a treadmill for 30 minutes. See if you can do 2 miles in 30 minutes. The more you do - the more results you'll see. Also, up your fruits and veggies, less carbs, protein is good. Get some nutrition books to follow the plan in a healthy way. Good Luck!

just doing sit-ups won't flatten your stomach. you have to exercise and eat right so you can lose the fat on your stomach, and then your stomach will be flat. Try Gilad's total body sculpt on ch 145. it's great workout program. He says your body can change in 8 weeks

It won't. Fat that you consume is basically distributed though out the body. It is less given to the muscles than it is placed on top of them. That is what you mainly see, Fat chin...big belly...wide fanny... etc. To exercise is to work on the muscles. Fat and muscle are two different things. In order to BURN FAT is to make your body WORK. Your work load must greater than your fat load coming in. Food that you eat is called calories. That is where the problem begins. The majority of people do not know how to control their calorie intake. Nor do they know how many calories a certain food contain. Therefore, a bulk of fat intake with less physical activity equals your question

Depends on how thick the layer of fat is upon the muscles right now. You will have to change your diet to rid the fat layers and then tone the muscles. Each ounce of lean muscle is a fat burning engine. Build lean muscle to rid fat. Check out the exercises here...I have used these and they are quick and very helpful in toning:

kinda depends on how big you are at present. the general rule is 6 months hard work for every 10 pounds over-weight. in your case, you should be in the best shape of your life by the time you are 72.
