I have dark hair. I do highlight and lowlight my hair at hair salon so that the chemical doesn't touch my skull, but it is very expensive to do so. It costs me about $140. I do this every 3 months. But after 3 months, usually my gray is visible and highlight and lowlight fade. Are there better ways to cover my gray without hurting my skin and chaper? I don't want to color my hair at home.

I usually get my hair permed about once a year near before Christmas time. If I use a highlighting kit will it work on dyed hair and will I still be able to perm in Dec? I used to use a Loreal hair color lifting kit, but I can't find those anymore. Are the highlighting kits just like the bleaching packs at Sally's Beauty Store?

will rinsing hair in water and lemon help. And how much water do you put and how much lemon do you put. (i know that it makes ur hair lighter if you go in the sun, but i dont care for that, i just heard that it makes it shinier by washing of the oils left by condotioners. And i also heard that putting honey in ur hair does something, but im not sure what? And also does any one have any other recipes.
ANd also does vineger and water do anything, and how much or each do you put?

For years, I've been in this cycle of growing my hair then chopping it short in a kind of punk pixie cut. My hair has reached a point where it's past my shoulders and gorgeous but lately I've been itching to cut my hair again. I know I look cute with short hair and I'm certainly not unattractive with long hair but a part of me thinks it's such a waste to go through the trouble of growing my hair out only to cut it again. Thoughts?

Basically, I've got the jew-fro thing goin on since I washed my hair today. It looked great before, I hadn't washed it in 4 months. It was kind of stringy, but it looked good in the opinions of most girls I know. I decided to wash it because I figured maybe this time I'd be able to get it straight with the new V05 straightening cream I got. I tried it, with the straightening iron and even wore a beanie for an hour after but nothing worked. I once got it chemically straightened, but that only lasted 3 days and still only reduced it to waves. I'd like to know if there's any conditioner that WILL weigh my hair down (all conditioners seem to advertise that they won't, but that's what I want), as well as homemade recipes to get my hair back to its unwashed state quicker, I've heard of olive oil and honey mixtures and other weird things...

The only time I've gotten it completely straight was when I ended up draining a full can of TIGI Hard Head spray.

My hair is about 10" long, light brown

Okay, I recently bleached my hair back to its normalish color, blonde. My hair which is usually in good shape, but after the bleach it is completely fried and breaking. My hair salon gave me about a million products to use, however, i was just curious if there was a way that i could get my hair back to its natural smooth state quicker.

If anyone has any helpful suggestions, it would be GREATLY appreciated (:

What are the things called. I mean the little hairs on the side of the forhead like alyssa milano has. Little short hairs on the side of the forehead.

No political or social issues this time (unless you want to read into it). Here is the scenerio:
A sixteen year old honor student who is both curtious and well behaved asks her mother if she can dye her hair. What should her mother say?

Ok I am not actually a cheerleader. I am a young actress but I have been cast as a cheerleader for a musical I am performing this weekend. I know that as a cheerleader its pretty much mandatory that I have my hair up. I pretty much never put my hair up unless i have a specific reason to (like a musical) so i don't have many creative ways in mind. My hair is way past my shoulders so i'm pretty flexible i think. Anybody know of a creative but easy way to put my hair up?

Thinking of dying my hair blonde, maybe just someb londe highlights and getting it styled in the next week or so.

The one thing that's worrying me is the fact that I am very fair skinned and very pale and that the colour may not suit me so much. However I have been wanting to dye my hair for ages now and I just can't decide whether to do it or not.

I will definatly go to a salon if I do get it done so it dosen't turn out like a complete mess. Anyway, if I could just get some opinions I would be grateful.
