I was raised by my aunt and she made me cut my hair REALLY short (like a boy) when I was 13. It was half way down my back at the time. She said that I did not need to have long hair. I hated having short hair, it looked awful!!! It made my face look fat, made me look even shorter than what I already was. Then as it started to grow again, she made me get it cut again because I was getting a cow lick at the side. I am now 28 and I have long thick naturally blonde hair all the way down to my bum!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think all mum just likes to comment on everything... Well, usually I'll just do as she says just to please her, I don't like it when she gets upset... and after a while I would just redo my hair...
But she doesn't really care anymore, she knows that I love my hair the way it is... and she wouldn't say much about it anymore, even when she might not like the color or whatever...

She spent my childhood trying to brush my curly hair enough to make it lay straight. Mostly it just got poofy--and yanked out because I have tangles. Then she put it in a pony tail and wrapped it around her finger to make one big curlycue. I looked like Gidget. It was 1987. Argh.

Yea I was fussin with it one day and she wanted me to cut it off and I did. Took me a long time to get out of the short hair cut because I thought it would make her happy.

sure when I was a child! Hair style is a personal choice as you grow up, so be an adult and chose your style!

No but my dad made me have my hair go just below my ears and in a bob!!
it was vile so glad im 21

my mother did not but if your mother ever ask you to style your hair in her way, tell her that it's generation gap and you won't do it

oh yeah my mom did that and it was so uncomfortable.she also made me dress up for things.omg i hate it i am 13 she dosent do it any more she just reccamends things to me and then makes me feel bad.

yea she did. and i was miserable. i was like 12 years old and she was still trying to tell me how to do my hair. finally one day.. i told her that i loved her but to either get over it or ground me because it made me feel like i had no confidence. and i wanted to do what made me happy. she finally got over it. it's kinda like she was not wanting me to be independent. good luck lovee.

She made me wear a bunch of dumb headbands that hurt my head. I really hated that ****.
