Ok I am not actually a cheerleader. I am a young actress but I have been cast as a cheerleader for a musical I am performing this weekend. I know that as a cheerleader its pretty much mandatory that I have my hair up. I pretty much never put my hair up unless i have a specific reason to (like a musical) so i don't have many creative ways in mind. My hair is way past my shoulders so i'm pretty flexible i think. Anybody know of a creative but easy way to put my hair up?

Ok well in reply to the blonde comment...
I might be blonde
maybe i wish i was brunette so i made my avatar brunette...
honestly my hair is somewhere in between red blonde and brown...
everyone i ask has their own opinion of what color my hair is...
and once again im an actress...
i didn't try out for the cheerleading team...
and besides...
wouldn't that just make me a better actress...

The typical cheerleader hair is a high curly pony tail with ribbons of the school's color around it/hanging down. You can do the curls with a hot iron or hot rollers. Either will work, just use lots of hairspray to get the SUPER curled cheerleader look.

Hi there, I was a cheerleader in high school and when the other girls saw how easy my hair was and how cute it came out we all started doing it! This will give you great curls with bounce.
What you will need:
Hair brush
Hair elastics
Bobbi pins or clips to prevent fly-aways
Hair Gel
Sponge hair rollers
Coordinating satin ribbon about 18 inches long
The night before start with clean, dry hair. Section off your hair in two inch sections (smaller for longer hair). Lightly coat each section individually with gel concentrating on the ends and start rolling your hair up. The next day, gently remove the rollers but do not brush out the curls, just comb through with your fingers. Then pull your hair up in a high pony tail and tie on your ribbon. If you like apply hairspray to help set.
The curls will look great when you move.
Hope this helps.
PS don't forget the ribbon!

If you're doing your hair for a school cheerleader then they usually wear high ponytails or a french braid. That's the basic at least. Competitive cheerleaders wear fake hair pieces so that each girl on the squad looks alike, as part of the uniform. Those are usually tight curls pinned where a ponytail would be. Your best bet is a high, straightened ponytail.

For a chearleading role you could put your hair up in a cute high pony tail with a pouf in the front! thats super cute! you could also do a messy bun, you could also curl the pony tail if you want! french braids also look cute! ribbons make any up do cuter also but besides that theres not much else that would really fit the part besides the classics! Good Luck!

"Daisyakaelle" gave you a great description of the details but I'll add a couple of other tips:
-- search on "cheerleader bows" to see the different styles, and buy one if you like. A pre-tied bow is easier, and cuter, than tying a ribbon yourself.
-- Leave the foam curlers in as long as possible, like till right before you go on stage!
-- Hairspray, & lots of it.
--Use bobby pins to hold the sides in place, even if your hair is long.
-- Use as many curlers as possible!
Good luck,

There is this really cute style my friend uses and shes a cheerleader. You put your hair in a high ponytail then braid your hair and braid a hair ribbon into it. Its really cute. I luv it and so does my friend. You'll be the utest cheerleader ever!

Jut a nice high pony tail with a bow is terrific. Tie the bow to the ponytail band, though, or it will slide off your hair.
