Im african american and i cant stand my hair. i just wish i had white people hair because my own is unmanageable. Today i missed school because my hair was so unmanageable. White and black people might have salson horror stories, but its because the get a bad cut, bad color, or a bad style. Those are the same things that black people deal with too. But on top of that, black people have unmanageable hair. The only way to get manageable hair is to get a damageing straightener. I cant just wash my hair and go outside, or go to the beach and let my hair get wet, without me getting a huge afro that everyone laughs at. Its also harder to get a trendy hairstyle for black people. All the black salons do hair ghetto, and the white trendy salons cant do black hair at all.

Well I'm basically wondering what I should do with my hair, because I somewhat want to try something new...Would a blow out look good at all? And if I do decide to grow it out, how would I avoid that ugly "intermediate" phase, is this possible?

i have really long and dark hair. As soon as my prom is over, i'm plannig to cut it very short just for a new look. I also wanted to put some color into it. i was planning to use a semi-permanent dye, a very bright color, try imagine it wanting to look punkish. what do u guys recomend?

I had highlights done on my black hair. But I can only see them on hte top of my head. The person who did it said that bleach wasnt neccesary. But I guess it was. Now what do I do to lighten the bottom of my hair? Or should I just dye it black? Can I dye my hair so quickly?? help please
