I know it sounds gross but you have to pour distilled vinegar over your head after you shampoo; then rinse it out with water. Use this method once or twice a week. Trust me you will definitely see and feel the difference. The vinegar is for many reasons.

Vinegar is a natural sterilizer and cleanser. It doesn't smell good but it works and the smell doesn't last because you have to rinse it out. What the vinegar will do is safely remove unwanted build-up while not harming the natural oils from your scalp. You will notice the difference right away. Beer is another good use for hair although doesn't work quite as well as the vinegar. Both of these methods will bring healthiness and SHINE to your hair while removing unwanted oils. Gradually you will notice though out each day, it takes longer for the oils to surface; still healthy but less stringy and less unmanageable.

You will definitely save money if you try this because it works! If you decide to follow the vinegar method, make sure you don't condition your hair everyday. The vinegar serves also as a conditioner to your scalp. You will feel cleaner. You will still need to use a conditioner but not as much.

Hair powder, baby or talcum powder is also something I would use to keep the hair fresh and long lasting throughout the day but with the vinegar method, not just hair powder alone.

Well use shampoo and conditioner as normal but do not condition right up to the roots, maybe half way through your hair. I get greasy hair and 5 days ago i started using herbal escences and it has really worked. Also if you have a side fringe or 'bangs' then keep your face clean because oily hair means breakouts of the skin. Also try and not touch your hair either. I used to wash my hair everyday due to greasy hair. But now every other day becuase im growing it so i want to keep some of the oils so one the day you washed it have it down, the next day have it up, then wash at night. Hope this helps and good luck in finding what you need i also hope i lead you in the right direction (: x

I also believe in the baby powder temporary fix...make sure when you sprinkle it on disperse it enough and run your fingers through your hair while it dangles (if it is that length) but check your scalp afterwards bc the big white patches may tell on you (a little dab of water on your fingers to your scalp will help with that). Keep in mind that at the end of the day the babypowder has likely worn off.

i have greasy hair too. I hate it! I have tried tons of different products but none really seemed to work for me. What does work is baby powder. I know it sounds weird but it asorbs the excess oils. It really does help. Just normal baby powder works great. Sprinkle some in your hands and rub in on the greasy parts of your head/hair.

1 use a shampoo for build up. that will help strip the oil.
2 use cool water to rinse your hair. it will help close your hair folicle and slow down the oil.
the reason your hair is oily, is that your are washing it in hot water and probably rinsing in hot water. The dryer the hair the more the hair will produce oil to help prevent the hair to become more dry. does that make any sense?

Wash it often and try to avoid putting products in your hair that are greasy and oily.

wash every other day with a daily clarifying shampoo. washing your hair everyday actually causes oil to be produced more, but if you absolutey have to wash it each day, make sure the shampoo is gentle and doesnt strip the hair of all its natural oils, which could be another cause of the problem! also make sure to condition and take good care of your hair! the problem should clear up! or you could invest in some powder that absorbs oil, and matches your hair color, i think they have it at ulta! good luck!

Try a Tea Tree Shampoo, either Paul Mitchell or Sally product.
Wash it daily and use a very mild conditioner and only on the ends, not the scalp.
