I would reccomend just a conair flat iron. Separate your hair in layers and stroke your hair with the flat iron until you get the results you desire. If your hair is curly and frizzy, i would reccomend the chi hair straightener. It is a bit pricey but it works GREAT! Hope this helps.

I use my sisters Chi straightner. It works really good! However, it's expensive.
For a less expensive approach:
1). Shower and blow dry your hair right after.
2). Iron your hair with yes, an iron and ironing board. IF it's your first time, ask a friend to do it AND turn the heat down. Until you get used to how long to leave it on and how hot your iron can get and how to iron it yourself YOU CAN GET HURT or burn off all your hair, that would be a disaster!
If you have really frizzy hair, put a dime size of your favorite lotion in your hand and put a little in your hair. More towards the ends NOT the roots.
If you ever see that your hair looks a little greasy put a little powder in your hair NEAR the roots. If it still looks greasy, take a shower.

There's a hair syrum called BioSilk, that's what I use. It comes in a tall, slender contianer with black lettering. They sell it in J.C. Penny's and some other hair salons... It's a bit pricey just for stuff to put in your hair, but it works wonders for frizzy hair, smells great and makes your hair super shiny. (only use a small amount though, trust me it's enough, because if you use too much it tends to make your hair greasy)

Put Garnier Fructis sleek and shine weightless anti-frizz serum (leave-in) BEFORE you straighten your hair.Yes it will be greasy but the heat tends to take away the grease, but keep the strightness.
